Thomaston Road Church of Christ is a loving, sharing, and community rich congregation. Here’s what to expect when you join us for worship. You will see people of different races, ages, and economic backgrounds. You will also see happy people - not necessarily people with no problems, but people who are happy to be the church. Before the service begins, members and guests will be talking and visiting with one another. Some will probably introduce themselves to you and welcome you. Just before the worship service begins, some announcements will be made about upcoming events and various members’ needs. During worship, we participate in the following:
We sing a cappella just like the church did in the 1st century. It won’t take long to realize it’s a wonderful way to sing and that we can all make beautiful music together for the Lord’s praise and our encouragement. Have a listen for yourself!
We partake of the Lord's Supper each week. This is done in accordance with Scripture as we remember Jesus' death on the cross. The bread represents His body and the cup represents His blood which He shed when He died on the cross for our sins.
God has given us so much, and for that we delight in giving back to Him. We join our resources together to support the church and its good works. While you are welcome to give if you wish, visitors should not feel obligated to do so. You can give by dropping monies into the collection plate, or you can give through PayPal or Facebook.
During the sermon, you will notice that the Bible is the subject. Bring your Bible with you and, hopefully, you will leave having learned something and having gained knowledge of this wonderful book a little better. You will hear lessons like this one from our Preacher, Todd Johnston.
We are a praying church! And we have devoted men who lead us in prayer as a congregation each week. The prayers will be sincere, spoken from the heart, not recited from memory or read from a book. Have a listen as our Shepherd, Bryan Rogers, leads us in prayer here.
Our congregation is as much like a big family as a church can be. We want you to feel like our welcomed guest. You will also realize that you have not only been with some good people, but also that you have been with God. That’s what you can expect when you join us to worship at TRCOC. We hope to see you at our next service!
